At 6:00 Mayor Mann called the regular meeting to order.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Mayor Mann presented the March 2017 treasurer’s report. Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept the report as presented to the board. Trustee Holloway seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye, Nay – 0.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  Mayor Mann presented the March 09th, 2017 Regular Board Meeting Minutes to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting minutes as presented to the board. Trustee Holloway seconded it. Motion carried.   

APPROVAL OF PAYMENTS:  Mayor Mann presented the unpaid bills to the board for approval. Trustee Holloway made a motion to accept the unpaid bills as presented to the board.  Trustee Patterson seconded it. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

VISITORS: No Visitors.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Trustee Mann reported that the annual Easter Egg Hunt was a big success that at least 60 children were in attendance.

Trustee Mann asked why the Warning Siren is not tested on the 10th of each month.  It was noted that the Village of Loami ESDA Coordinator is not available during the day to test it. The board discussed different ideas and it was finally decided that the Mayor would call David Butt, ESDA Coordinator of Sangamon County to see if he could set it off from the County.

Mayor Mann stated that the annual Yard Sale will be on May 6th, the dumpsters have been ordered for this year’s Cleanup day slated for May 20th, 2017 from 7 – 11AM at the Square and 19 ATV Permits have been issued this year.

 

OLD BUSINESS: Trustee Mann made a motion to approve Ordinance 2017-01 An Ordinance making Appropriation for all corporate purposes for the Village of Loami, Illinois, for fiscal year commencing on the 1st of May 2017 and ending on the 30th day of April 2018. Trustee Holloway seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve Resolution 17-01 A Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code. Trustee Mann seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Clerk Glynn submitted the pricing for the eLert system; the same system that Chatham uses. The board decided the price was too high and to not buy the software.

Trustee Holloway asked the board for approval to give 5 more vacation days to the Water Superintendent. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion. All favored, motion carried. 

Trustee Patterson made a motion for a 2% raise for all employees this fiscal year. Trustee Mann seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Trustee Mann asked if we have received a baseball schedule for Colburn Park, the Clerk stated not yet but will email the League and ask them.  

 

DEPARTMENT REPORTS:

PARKS – Trustee McCann reported that the Park is good.   

WATER DEPARTMENT – Trustee Holloway stated that the Water Department is doing good. And the two pontoon boots for the lagoon are good to go.

STREETS DEPARTMENT – No Report.

POLICE DEPARTMENT – Trustee Mann stated that everything has been going normal at the PD and that most of our Officers are members of the Left Handers Club so they can practice fire more often. Chief Workman did submit the Police Report to the board and it is on file.

PERMITS – Trustee Mann no permits.    

DELINQUENT BILLS – Trustee McCann reported three shut-offs and two turned back on. 

PUBLIC SAFETY –  Trustee Mann stated she has taken photos of property in the Village that are in violation of rubbish, weeds and inoperable vehicles. Letters will be sent to those residents to comply.

With no further business at hand, Trustee Patterson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Trustee Mann seconded the motion. All favored, motion carried.

The next regular board meeting will be at 6PM on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
